Tonight I watched the Bears loose to the Packers, 38 - 16. This wasn't as bad as Sunday night's the Colts over the Saints, 55 -21. I am a football person. It isn't a religion to me, but it's close (some would argue my measuring is off like a NFL Offical).

I'm in Alabama. That means right before the doctor slaps your ass after birth, you're given the choice of an Alabama or Auburn blanket. I love Alabama, but I also support Auburn unless they're playing Alabama. This is a sin in this state, almost as bad as saying your favorite team is Tenesse. But I can like more than one team at a time. I enjoy the game of football.

The NFL entered my life in 1985. I became a Bears' fan. The '85 Bears. After that, I learned that I love the Packers, the Jets, the Steelers, the Raiders, the Colts, the Saints, and Tampa Bay. I can watch just about any game and be okay. But it is hard when two teams I really do like above others play each other, as we've had for the last two days. I love the Colts and the Saints. Of the two, I have to go with the Saints because New Orleans is an amazing place and that team is special too. I'd say they're the Detriot Tigers of the NFL but we have the Detriot Lions for that.

Any normal game, I'd have been "Go Colts!" but I had to watch the Colts mistreat the Saints. They stopped at 55 by choice.

Tonight wasn't that bad. The Bears played better than the Saints, but not that much better. It was opening night at Soldier's Field for the Bears. And as much as I love the Packers, I have to go with the Bears each time. And when I watch the Bears and the Saints have really bad games over and over, I can't help but wish something miracle-like would happen. Maybe I'm just trying to recaputer the magic I had as a child watching the '85 Bears. It's the same thing when my parents bring up the '70's Steelers, Colts, and Raiders.

And by the way, real football is played on a field, Lambeau Field for example, not in a dome, not on artifical grass.  ¶ 12:23 AM
