There is something strange on cable right now. Where channel 10 is supposed to be, there's a replay of the Notre Dame University of Southern California game from earlier today. I already know who won, USC. They ran over ND a few times, backed up, and ran over them again. The final score was 43 or 48 to 20 something. Still, I'm enjoying having it on in the background.
Tonight, my friend built his wife a new computer. When it came time to install XP, her files were erased. It wasn't his fault. And I won't even call it an accident. XP did it on purpose. Somewhere in the installation process, something wasn't clear or it took it upon itself to erase everything. Luckily, most of her files were backed up up, and what she didn't have, wouldn't be too hard to get again.
Thanks to M$, I have learned to backup everything. Thanks guys.
Today, I noticed M$ is running an infomercial on TechTV. In it, they detail how to protect your computer because they can't. If Tyson Foods allowed as many "worms" as M$ does, do you think Tyson Chicken would be legal? M$, on computers across the land, deals with more money than Tyson Foods. Thank God (or deity of choice) the military uses Apple computers when it can.
Tomorrow, I'll be searching about for a server that has Linux Mandrake 9.2, which is coming out as I write this. By the end of October, it'll be wildly available. Right now, it's available for Mandrake Club members. I'm sure an iso or two will leak out to the rest of us. I'll just have to find it.
