Well, I think I've figured out thing posing-wise. But there are some margin issues I'm still working on for the Blog.

Other than the Blog, everything else is up and working. The site is a cleaner version of the flash version with some of the stlye of the old Under The Moon html version. I think this will work better for me. I love flash. It is hard to work with sometimes, but that's why I'm not using it anymore. Most folks do not have the latest badass computer. I don't even have that. I just have something that'll do most things. Most folks don't. So, I'm going with something that I hope most folks will be able to see and read with as little problems as possible.

I worry about bandwidth. The first version of Devil's Advoce (another site I designed) was heavy in webterms. It was for broadband. I made the mistake of thinking that if you put a "Loading..." animation that people will wait 30 seconds for an image. It doesn't work like that. People, even on broadband, want thing now.

So, I've worked really hard since those first days of DA to make things small. I love to just use text and push it around a bit. I now have the ablity to take an image and run it through Adobe's Image Ready. Image Ready can take a 30K image and make it 15K, a 10K and make it 1K. That's a key to my webwork these days.

800 x 600. I hate 800 x 600, but more than half the people surfing the web are running their monitors at 800 x 600. I run at 1152 x 864 on both my 19 inch monitors (I dual monitor). I have to design for 800 x 600 or everything I do looks wrong. I hate to scroll sideways and so do most folks. Imagine only seeing half a site. You'll come away thinking that site sucked. So I take 800 x 600 in mind.

The new Under The Moon site, like all of my sites these days, does that. However, I push it to the very edge. And in one or two spots, I tend to go over my 800 x 600 margins but usually it's something that's not that important to using and enjoying the site. For example, a small graphic may get cut off, but never any text of anything. At least, this is what I try to do. I make tons of mistakes.

Anyway, I've still go some work to do to shape this Blog. But the site is up and the Blog is part of it. I hope to post often and actually get back into Blogging. I used to have a Blog that I posted to every day for a year. That's 365 posts in a row. I had to do all the html coding by hand. And back then, it wasn't called Blogging or a Blog. I called it an Online Journal. Oh well. That's for another day. I've got a tad bit or webwork left and then some writting.

    Maybe it'll rain like promised.

From a Hole in the Sky

13 Stories of Horror, Madness, and Religion make up this dark-kudzu collection. A city run by angels with demanding burial rites. A white van jostling with clowns and warnings about sleep. A weeping pastor with a dead man in a boat. Homicide, Suicide, Jesus, and The Devil. To join a family, you're going to need some stitches. Kids today on their way to cut grass and play cowboys and injuns'. A hole in the ground where poor John Henry met a foul ending. And unholy birthing machines with a chosen one. All this and more. Where do bad things come from? They come FROM A HOLE IN THE SKY.

    The Alabama Weather Blog
A blog of the current forecasts, watches, and warnings for the state of Alabama. The posts are automatically generated from E-forecast and E-warn e-mails from my local ABC Network Affiliate, ABC 33/40. The images are from the National Weather Service. The site will refresh itself every ten minutes.
