I just finished watching ADAPTATION. That movie helps.
I'm slowly making progress on my screenplay, "W. T. for Short." I have a short story (still doggedly un-named) in the making that takes priority over the screenplay, but I am getting things done. I'm very tempted to write myself a part in the screenplay. It's based on this and that from my life. So why shouldn't I have a larger role in it?
Right now, the screenplay is growing. I'm adding more to it than was in the short story it's based on. More likely than not, I'll just go back to the short story and add things. I'm really learning a lot from this. And if I can pull this off, I'm going to take other works, turn them into screenplays, turn them into films.
