Last night DistroWatch posted three links to Mandrake Linux 10 Official. For the past few months, I've been using Mandrake 10 Community. Community, while a bit more sturdy than 9.0, had a few rough spots in it. But I loved it. If I wasn't told, I would have never known is was something to use and work bugs out of. So last night when links became available for the Official, I imediately began to download the three discs.
By this morning, I had two out of three discs. On Mandrake's website, they had published the mirrors list so you can pick an ftp closest to you. Well, they all seemed full... except the ones in the Netherlands. Why? I don't know. I used one there to finish downloading the first disc.
I've since installed and pretty much got everything back to the way I like it. Setting things up in Official has been like setting things up in Community. There were a few things that were easier like Anti-aliasing Fonts. In Community, that took a bit to get working with my dual monitor setup. Turning on the sound stuff seemed easier this time too.
Superkaramba still requires some tinkering in the source code before compiling it, but that little bit of software isn't from Mandrake.

While I was installing Mandrake, I sat and tried to figure out how stupid the Insane Clown Posse is. Thankfully, the installation didn't take all that long so I didn't get too deep in thought. Maybe I'll write Stephen Hawkins about measuring of the stupidity of the Insane Clown Posse. Surely there's a Quatamn scale we can use.
