There is now a preset on my amp named Black Sabbath. Today I was playing too loud trying to figure out "Into The Void" by the Almighty Black Sabbath. I had a few notes, but the rest weren't on my guitar. I looked up the guitar tab online. Sure enough, the notes weren't on my guitar.

I had forgotten that Tony Iommi tunes down... tunes down to C#. That's one and a half steps down. I am not a fan of tuning down. I don't think my guitars like it that much. Plus, drop D tuning is used as a crutch for every other band these days.

So I decided to try my pitch shifter on my amp. Low and behold, things didn't sound all that bad. Yes, I was tuned down using my amp, but it didn't sound like Joe Guitar in Druggie Ford, Flaccid Shortcakes, Maze, or Loosen Entanglement -- is it wrong for me to say Flaccid Shortcakes instead of Limp Biscuit?

Anyway, the notes were on the guitar, and I love playing the song. In fact, now other songs on Master of Reality seem kind of easy. Ah, Tony, you trickster! I also figured out how to play "Don't Fear the Reaper," which isn't an Almighty Black Sabbath song, but they should cover it. They don't really do a lot of covers. Also, for full disclosure, I'm writing this while listening to... Cowboy Junkies, the song "House in the Country" in particular.

Well, it's late. I need to read, write, and do some math.
