THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BIRMINGHAM HAS ISSUED A FLOOD
WATCH...FOR FLASH FLOODING...FOR ALL OF CENTRAL ALABAMA
STARTING TONIGHT.
HURRICANE IVAN IS EXPECTED TO MAKE LANDFALL AROUND MOBILE THURSDAY
MORNING. AS IVAN MOVES ACROSS THE AREA...PERIODS OF HEAVY RAIN WILL
MOVE NORTHWARD TONIGHT...RESULTING IN TOTAL RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF 6 TO
12 INCHES OR MORE FROM TONIGHT THROUGH THURSDAY NIGHT. THIS IS A VERY
DANGEROUS SITUATION. FLASH FLOOD WARNINGS WILL LIKELY BECOME
NECESSARY.
