The alarm scanner thingy just went off. There is a tanker fire up the road on the highway. That's not a good thing. It's awful cold -- yeah, I know it's awful cold everywhere right now. Water and fire on a night like this... trouble.
On Monday, I did something I didn't think I would do for some time. I started a new novel. No, not reading, but writing. One came to me and demanded that she was next. So here we are, writing another novel, unexpected and unplanned. But hey, life knocks you up like that sometimes.
The bass player in my friend's band went gambling with her ex-girlfriend (yes, lesbian). She won $7,500. That would really be nice to have for myself. It would fix so many problems, including my car problems. Also, my friend and lead singer of the band came into some money as well. But will they hire jh2media to build them a site? Nope. Why? Because they have strange, childish hang-ups about paying people for their time and talent. Or was is it just jealousy and stubbornness? I forget. But hey, if they don't pay, they get to live with the green-grey muttle of a site they already have. I'd share the link, but I know some of you are on dial-up and since not one image is sized for the web, it'd take you about an hour to download the front page of their site.
Johnny Carson died Sunday. I really did think he was funny. I got into a habit of watching him when I was a child during a summer break. I really did think he was funny. He retired shortly after I discovered him, but I got to see enough. The funniest stuff I ever saw was when a joke was horrible, and then he'd find a way to make that funny.
I read a report on MSNBC earlier today about how global warming was approaching a point of no return. There's going to be widespread drought, crop failure, and rising sea levels. Oh joy. Meanwhile, the Senate is trying to find a new way to ban gay marriage. Dear Senators and Congressman, I do not care about gay marriage. Stop wasting this nation's money. Focus on a way for me to live when the world is burning. Hey, hey, cold people and snowed in folk, please take note that global warming also increases the amount of moisture in the air, which increases the cold during winter, and makes snow and floods. So people get ready. Me, I think I'm going to read up on that story about that guy who built an ark. That seemed to turn out well for him.
