Thanks to Dennis, my blog has a lot of weather updates. I have it setup that anything to do with Walker County is posted. Hurricanes usually mean a lot of posts. I wonder if Emily will come this way and visit my blog?

I have been extremely busy these last few weeks. jh2media is currently redesigning our own site. And we're also doing some upgrade work for a client. I can't wait until we get our new site finished. Jon, the other half of jh2media, already has a new avatar based on the new site design. He uses the avatar on some of our clients' message boards.

The horror movie moves along. The beginning and ending have stuck, and I'm still tinkering with the middle. As I work on it, I really do have a lot of stuff in my head about how I'm going to shoot it and when. Alabama is a strange place for weather -- as you can see from all the weather updates. I'm almost certain the movie will have to be shot in the winter because of snakes. Alabama has snakes. I hate snakes. Not only do I not want to stomp through the woods while those things are out and about, I don't want actors doing it either. If they get bit, that would just slow things down with hospitals and potential death.

The other movie, "W. T. For Short" will almost have to be shot as a mockumentary, a false documentary (think Spinal Tap). I need a camera and some sound equipment. I'll have the actors do some improve but stick to the basic storyline. And I'll mix interviews in between the action. "W. T." is the one that'll get me in trouble. I know that. But what the hey? You can only offend once.

Yesterday I had to go to Walmart... ugh. While checking out, I noticed a stack of DVDs for a dollar. Yes, a dollar. I bought The Satanic Rites of Dracula which stars Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing. It's a Hammer Horror film. It's not good quality and has no extras, but it was a dollar. I also picked up The Terror which has Jack Nicholson and Boris Karloff. Yes, Boris Karloff.

I'm still obsessing with Ichi the Killer. I can't wait to get that on DVD. I've learned some about the director, Takashi Miike. I should have already known about him.

Takashi Miike directed Audition, a movie I've been dying to see. Audition is the story of a man who goes on a date with a woman and the woman decides to keep him and do horrible things to him. If it's anywhere near Ichi the Killer, the movie will hard to watch. Yes, hard to watch. A lot of people call Ichi the Killer the most violent movie ever made. I can't think of one more violent. Cannibal Holocaust comes to mind, but there was a lot of violence on animals in that movie (real violence -- which is why it's banned in many countries).

Watch the trailer. Maybe that'll help clue you in as to why I can't wait to see Audition, Takashi Miike's horror film that a good number of people say is hard to watch even for die-hard horror fans. And if you want to see Ichi the Killer, it comes on Sundance this Friday night.

From a Hole in the Sky

13 Stories of Horror, Madness, and Religion make up this dark-kudzu collection. A city run by angels with demanding burial rites. A white van jostling with clowns and warnings about sleep. A weeping pastor with a dead man in a boat. Homicide, Suicide, Jesus, and The Devil. To join a family, you're going to need some stitches. Kids today on their way to cut grass and play cowboys and injuns'. A hole in the ground where poor John Henry met a foul ending. And unholy birthing machines with a chosen one. All this and more. Where do bad things come from? They come FROM A HOLE IN THE SKY.

The posts are automatically generated from E-forecast and E-warn e-mails from my local ABC Network Affiliate, ABC 33/40. The images are from the National Weather Service. The site will refresh itself every ten minutes.
