Right before bed last night, I realized that I had not eaten dinner. Considering how much I love food, that was an interesting realization. I went on to bed and did not make up for the lost meal. I may do that today, though.

Yesterday I bought some gas and got super pissed. Friday, I purchased gas and paid $2.48 for Premium gas. My car has to have Premium or it doesn't move. Yesterday, Monday, I paid $2.75 for Premium. You have to pre-pay at this gas station, and I had already pre-paid before I noticed how much gas was. I'm sure it's just as expensive up the road and down the road. But I would have loved a chance to find out.

What's wrong with America? That's a grand question isn't it? Is it unpatriotic? I love America. I really do. But we do have problems, and one of which is really getting to me. Oil companies make billions of dollars in profit during quarters. That's three months, not the entire year. Billions of dollars. Some only make 9 billion dollars of profit. Some make 14 billions of dollars of profit. This is after they've paid for the oil, its shipping, and processing. When I hear how much profit these companies make, my blood boils with frustration at America. Why are we taking this? Why aren't we protesting? And judging by the recent protest over illegal aliens, protests and marches are easily formed; even high school students can manage them. So why isn't America protesting the oil companies? Are we distracted? Do we even care anymore? We're America. We shouldn't be taking this crap.

Protests can't last forever. And boycotts usually don't work. So somebody needs to come up with a plan. I thought about at the next election that nobody would vote for anybody unless they promised to fix the oil industry. But then it dawned on me that if nobody voted, several hundred oil company executives would vote and put another "Bush" in the White House. So not voting is a bad idea. But how do we get a politician who will fix the oil industry? I have no idea. Maybe a democrat will figure out that this is what he needs to run on. We all know "I'm not Bush" will be the main slogan, but if he could work the oil industry into his campaign, he might get my vote.  ¶ 11:53 AM
