Yesterday, I did pretty much nothing all long. It was just one of those days where the TV seemed warm and cozy. Wait, I did do something. At 4 in the morning, I watched for the very first time an episode of Paranoia Agent. Thanks to wikipedia.org, the episode I watched is called Happy Family Planning. You can read about this episode here and more about Paranoia Agent here. A man, an old man, and a six year old girl who met online decide to met in real life to kill themselves in part of a suicide pact. Suicide is big in Japan because everything is big in Japan (more on internet suicide pacts here). The episode was funny and bizarre and entertaining on some weird level. I couldn't help but be creeped out by the big pink dogs with those big eyes. I kept waiting to figure out what the whole show was about, but that didn't happen in that episode. It ends with a close up of a vending machine that sells condoms and the translation on the screen was Happy Family Planning Extra-thin Condoms. I then turned it on the weather channel and went to sleep.

I haven't bought any anime in a long time. I keep planning to get that Matrix boxset thing. I did enjoy the Animatrix. Weta Workshop (Lord the Rings, King Kong) is working on Neon Genesis Evangelion the live action movie. NGE is just as important as Akira in the world of anime. I'm sure some people will hate the live action movie, but I'm kind of looking forward to it. I'm also looking forward to the live action Transformers movie. Remakes and alternate versions do not take away from the originals. Why not enjoy both? (my opinion may change depending on Rob Zombie's Halloween original-remake)

Original-remake will become a Hollywood buzz world. An original-remake is when somebody is basing a movie on a previous movie but doesn't use all of the original's plot. For example, the last Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake. It had some characters from the original but didn't really follow the original at all. So, in effect, it's an original-remake.

Maybe original-remakes will move into music. Maybe somebody will do that to Billy Idol. Take a bit of his look and attitude, call themselves Billy Idol, and then come up with music that somewhat sounds like the original but not be the original recordings of Mr. Idol. Wow. I think KISS already did this with KISS music. You know. One of these days, Gene and Paul will realize that it's cheaper not to hire people to dress up like Peter and Ace and just use animatronics instead.  ¶ 2:09 AM
