I am in the process of redesigning this site. How far have I gotten? How long is a piece of string?
Somebody asked why I don't embed all my YouTube stuff into one page instead of having popups. The reason why is because when I go to a site with a lot of video embeds, I start one and if I don't like it, I click pause and start another one. If there are several videos, this can add up. Before I know it, I'm downloading several videos on pause that I'm not going to watch, killing my bandwidth. Of course, I'd love everybody to watch my videos, but I also don't want to bog them down if they don't like a video or two and just want to keep clicking until they find one they do like. The same goes with my Vimeo videos. Soon, they'll be part of the media page. I'm still working on that. I really do want some kind of rss catch-all for YouTube and Vimeo. Probably more so for Vimeo than YouTube. I was hoping WordPress was it. Maybe it is, and I haven't found the right addons.
Here's what I want WordPress to do. I want to keep Blogger and have it just be a part of WordPress. I want rss feeds from YouTube, Vimeo, and Twitter. I do not want to transfer my blog to WordPress. I do want to keep Blogger. I like having things on Google's servers (Blogger is part of Google). I would love control of how YouTube and Vimeo are shown in the rss feed. I haven't found it yet, this kind of integration and control, but it feels like it's right around the corner.
