February Storm
We've had some severe weather in the month of February. During a flash flood/thunderstorm, I went out and shot some video with my camera, tripod, and umbrella. Everything here is at 400% speed.
The song is "Motel Monologue" by Charlie Terrell from his album, Taking the Jesus Pill.

Morning Snow

On February 28th, it finally snowed here. I shot as much as I could, but it was cold that morning. And by afternoon, the snow was all gone. The video is sped up to 400% and the music, "Fifteen Feet of Pure White Snow" is by Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds.

February Wind

We had an unusably windy day at the start of February (we haven't had a normal weather day since October). I shot some video, and then tinkered with it. Most of this video is at 400% speed. The end is at 25% speed. The transition from 400% to 25% speed at the same time as the music changes was a happy accident; I certainly didn't plan it that way.
The song is "Sawface Sally" by Charlie Terrell from his album, Water is Water.

Church Without Fear Tornado

"This is a video I put together of footage of a tornado hitting Huntsville, AL on March 15th, 1964 and archival footage before and after. Some of the people in the video would eventually help form the Church Without Fear in Huntsville."
Well... not exactly. There was no tornado in Huntsville, AL, on March 15th, 1964, and there's no Church Without Fear. This was a video project done by a friend and I for customer's website, Church Without Fear. It's a made up church to go along with a character, the Roadkill Preacher Lester Shoates (in the video, the crazy face in the clouds). Lester is part of a play, Taking the Jesus Pill, by Charlie Terrell, who also did the music for the video.

The Christmas Eve Tornado

No joke, we had a tornado on Christmas Eve. Might have had something to do with the fact that we had shrimp as part of our dinner. I don't know.

The Thorns of Christ

I took clips from the 1974 movie, The Satanic Rites of Dracula which stars Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing, and added music by Rammstein. The version of the song Engel in the video was done by Scala and Kolacny Brothers. The original Engel is heard briefly at the end.

Shake Hands With Danger

I found a safety video on archive.org called Shake Hands With Danger. The video features acidents on worksites and how to prevent them. It was made sometime in the 1970's by
the Centron Productions. The director of the safety film, Herk Harvey, directed "Carnival of Souls" in 1962, which I love. I took some odd parts of Shake Hands With Danger and pieced them together. The film itself is worth a watch and could be considered a '70's horror flick. Think of my little video as a trailer.

Storm of December 9th, 2008

On December 9th, 2008, we had a severe weather event. Two towns not far from me where stuck by tornadoes. Nobody died thank God, but there was lots of damage. That night I filmed some of the weather. About halfway through the video, the power went off on the other side of the street.

Riding With Tom

So my friend and I were driving to pick up his kid and my nephew from school one day. I picked up my camera and just shot my home town as we drove. We were listening to Tom Waits at the time. The window was rolled down so the rushing wind distorted the actual audio. No matter; I replaced the audio with a Tom Waits song, Book of Moses.

Inside the Murder House

A long time ago, my friend and I had a web project for a band, and I had an abandoned house with some tornado damage. Add in some fake blood, and the two seemed like a match made in... well, the other place. The house has fallen more into decay while dust has settled on the fake blood, coloring it brown. I've often wondered what would happen if somebody, who didn't know about the photo shoot, stumbled into it.
I shot this video as a test originally in color, but I think it looks better in black and white.

The Fire of November 9th, 2008

There was a house fire not to far from my house early that night. I tried to shoot some video of it, but the smoke clouds were just too dark.
Then morning came. Just after half past six am, firetrucks went down again. I ran outside and shot this. Bare in mind, it was about 32 degrees, and I couldn't stop shaking. I had to use the auto stabilizer on the camera, which makes the video quality less while trying to hold the image still.
If you listen closely, you can hear the fire truck from a distance shift gears and rev up to provide pressure for the hoses.
That afternoon, I decided to drive down and check out the house. I pulled into their neighbors yard and stuck the camera out of the window and shot for about a minute before people started to come outside. I then threw it into reverse and quickly left.
I am very concerned about what is happening in the same area my town. I said it was the third fire in three months, and people tell me there have been more than that.

Sunset and Clouds on October 3rd, 2008

November wasn't too exciting of a month weather-wise. But this was pretty much it, a few days of dark and windy that often cleared up before nightfall. Oddly enough, November is our second tornado season of the year. At the most, we had one severe thunderstorm and no tornadoes. Sounds like a good thing, but I think it'll balance out with a bad winter.

Falls The Third Time

I took a paranormal investigation video from Archive.org, re-edited it, and added some audio. This is not meant as a paranormal investigation video. It's just me playing around with video and audio and trying to be artsy and/or weird. The whisper and breathing sounds were taken from The Freesound Project. There's also bits and pieces of me playing guitar in the video.

To Fight The Horde

This is my first video shot in World of Warcraft. I used GameCam. There's a few raids, boss fights, and an afternoon of Arathi Basin in it. I added a glow effect to compensate for the video quality GameCam was giving me. I'm not sure it helped, though.

Razorblade Superstar Documentary

This is a clip from a documentary about my friend's band, Razorblade Superstar. Of course, there's not really documentary... yet. It's all just good, clean fun.
The video features segments taken from Santanis, a real documentary from 1969 about Anton LaVey. In the video, I refer to him as Howard LaVey, Razorblade Superstar's biggest fan. Yes, like I said, good, clean fun. Togare makes an appearance at the end of the video.

From the Ashes - Razorblade Superstar Teaser Trailer

This is a teaser trailer for my friend's new band, Razorblade Superstar. The trailer features an intro by Coffin Joe from his movie Awakening of the Beast, and then clips from his movie This Night I Will Possess Your Corpse. I made the graphic that overlays the video from an image of Coffin Joe and, for no apparent reason, an image of one of the Knight Templars from the movie Tombs of the Blind Dead. I also made up the subtitles, which I think are close to what Coffin Joe is saying.

Pressure

This is a video I did for my friend's old band, Beyond The Ashes. I used clips from Haxan, a 1922 silent film documentary about witchcraft and mental illness. The German documentary was filmed with some color tints such as blue, yellow, and red.

The Last BTA Video

In 1943, Walt Disney made an animated short film called Education for Death. I took a clip and edited music in from my friend's band, Beyond the Ashes. The band is no more. The music is a mash-up of one of their last live shows. I had hopes to do some kind of stylistic effect or something to clean the obvious VHS rip, but the band broke up before I could really finish the video.
